Description
Method:
1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, mix the chicken with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, salt, and lemon juice. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
2. Cook the chicken: Heat oil in a pan, add the marinated chicken, and cook until it’s partially cooked (about 5-7 minutes). Remove and set aside.
3. Prepare the gravy: In the same pan, add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for another minute.
4. Add tomatoes and spices: Add pureed tomatoes, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook the mixture for 5-7 minutes until the oil starts to separate.
5. Combine the chicken: Add the partially cooked chicken into the gravy. Stir well, add salt, and pour water to achieve desired consistency. Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked.
6. Garnish and serve: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.
